If you are wondering how to discover your Dell Service Tag number from the command prompt this information may be helpful.

Steps
1. Click the Windows Start button.
2.  Type the CMD command in the Run or Type to Search box.
3. In the cmd.exe windows type the command wmic bios get serialnumber.

In Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7

 C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook

In Windows XP

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

Location of the Outlook .NK2 email address cache file.

Note: Change the above USERNAME to your Windows profile login name.

Default Path:

In Windows XP

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

Look for the outlook.pst file in the above folder location.


Default location of the Outlook .PST file.

In Windows 7

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook

Note: Change the above USERNAME to your Windows profile login name.

When working in Outlook 2007 the following message appears in big bold print when I try to access my Tasks and other things.

Outlook 2007 Error message:

Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook cannot access the specified folder location. The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook. Outlook cannot open this item. The item may be damaged. You can repair errors in Outlook 2007 by running the Scanpst.exe program or Inbox Repair tool.

Steps

In Windows 7

1. Go to the folder location

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12

2. Double click and run the Scanpst.exe program
